'Death of Sir Nicholas Clifford' occurred in 1595 while Clifford (Lieutenant General) was accompanying Sir Frances Drake on what would be his last voyage into the West Indies. Drake, a vice admiral and prominent sea captain, was only the second person to circumnavigate the world in a single expedition. He was later knighted by Queen Elizabeth I of England, yet remained a pirate in the eyes of the Spaniards. It is in fact Sir Frances Drake who lays on the floor after his bar stool was struck from under him whilst enjoying a beer during his supper in Porte-Richo (Puerto Rico). As the brawl continued, Sir Nicholas Clifford died that evening, from his injuries; and their Captain, Captain Brute Brown a day or two thereafter.
